Not only was online and blended learning useful to me in high school, it will be very useful when I go to college.

Looking back on how I did in a traditional classroom, with endless worksheets and big class sizes, my grades were not the best. The gap between teacher and individual student was wide. It was hard to get one-on-one instruction when I didn’t understand something. The teacher would try to help as many students as possible but was not able to provide help to each student's individual needs in the class time that was provided. Each class would range between 45-90 minutes and each student would have to try to cram all the new information in their heads before having to move on to their next class. This was especially difficult for me. Because people have different learning styles (visual, audio, etc.), it can be hard for a teacher to focus on each learner’s needs...

Junior year, I made a change of school. I went to Butler Tech School of The Arts and they had online and blended learning... Teachers put videos online with instructions on how to do assignments that you could play over and over to fully grasp the concept you were trying to learn... It was certainly beneficial to me as a visual learner that these videos were posted. Not only was online and blended learning useful to me in high school, it will be very useful when I go to college. During my senior year, I took a college English class where a professor would come in three times a week and give her lecture. The great thing about this was that the content was online and all assignments and essays we had to turn in were online. All the materials she went over during class were also uploaded online so that I could look back on it later.

Blended online learning was very beneficial to me—my grades improved, and I was excited to learn new things!
